With Durka's blessing, and at the request of several people, including fellow Wild West clan mates, I am going to bring this tourney back. (For those wondering about the LMS tourney, I am still planning that too). I have begun to edit the old wiki page Durka had used http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php? ... _Tourney_2. The plan is to use the "self-organizing model" that the ladle uses with a couple of global moderators to smooth the process along.
So, 2 big questions. When would you guys prefer to have this? Since WarSumo is planned for the week after the next Ladle, I was thinking either the last weekend of this month or the weekend after Ladle 33. The second question is a couple global mods. I can organize this, and donate servers, but I can't be around to run it. If you are interested, speak up!
I will be adding a server section to the existing wiki once I get the settings hosted and things a little more organized.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome. However, as the one organizing it, I will just make the final decision, with your input, of course.

If you think it'll be organised in time for the last weekend of this month it seems like the best option if post L33 seems too far away

Just to be correct, wasnt the first 4 team fortress tourney the one that the red team won and stole from my green team which was composed of sine, concord, van-hayes and eggcozy?

Just checking, because that was so much and exciting. If so, then there definitely needs to be another one.

/me agrees 100%. I really don't think you need more than a couple of days to fill the sign up; a week at most. Scheduling a tournament 3 or 4 weeks away just gives people more time to forget or lose interest. I was the one who got the last 4-Team Fort event going, and it took hardly any time or effort. It was a success too (even though you dropped the ball that day gene ).

Just pick a reasonably close date, announce it, and let the magic happen.

@Trevor: I don't remember the details of the last one (4 months ago), but I do remember it was really close. I think it was 2-2-2-2 and the winner only won by, like, 6 points or something like that. And I think it was me who screwed up and gave away the win, if I'm not mistaken.

Yea it was close and our team lead most of the time then all the others decided to attack us and the red team took that chance to crawl up the score.

Sine is right, the last one was just stated and had a close date since people had to wait an extra week for the ladle so a lot of people showed up. Enough people that there could have been a second game going in another server.

Yes this is still happening, assuming some teams sign up. I assumed with WST happening, I would wait until now to really promote it. I will be fine tuning the wiki pages tonight, and posting on clan forums.

Servers will be on the master list and the info necessary for other server admins to donate servers done by tomorrow night.

EDIT: Upon reviewing my schedule for this week, I have decided that in the interests of providing a good tournament experience, I need a few more weeks. We have just bought a house, which is now consuming tons of my free time. I want to take the time to ensure that everything is setup properly. That is why I have chosen to do this the week after the next ladle.
