Ping Jumping Problem.

Post by FoFo »

Since 3 days , everytime i connect on arma , i ve around 150 ping but it jumps from 40 to 250 , idk why , at beginning i beleived it was my conection , but when i played with flex yesterday , flex had the same problem , anyone knows why ping not stable ? any problem with client or smthg ? The only time i got to play normally is around 1am when no one is online ping became stable , thats quite annoying so i just wanted to know if someone knows why...

I just tested my connection speed everything is ok , i went back to arma i still have 150 pings or more :( i dont understand it :/

My guess is it's a problem with the server you play on.

Well, then there's that theory. Or other ISP trouble. If problems start out of the blue, it usually isn't related to software that hasn't been updated. Of course, someone also may be attacking you.

All the servers you mentioned are located in europe (right?).

Because of the long/cold winter this year, some ISP's close to me have been failing a lot (mine included), maybe it's the same deal in other parts of europe too? I dunno.

First thing to try is turn off any firewalls that are running, see if it improves

also I used to notice if a virus checker is running it can cause latency issues (ping)

I've had the same type of ping problems in the past, Fofo, and these two explanations have always ended up being the reason.
