Ladle 28 | discussion topic

Post by gawdzilla »

Ladle 28, 6th of December!

Is there anything we need to look at for this ladle? Things to vote on, etc? Or the same as last?

This ladle is going to be very interesting, so far.

degree°Clan's debut, will we deliver?
~*SpeederS*~ aka SpArrow
Twi¦×¦ted ¦×¦ats who almost got beaten by VcL, will they get past the first round?
PLZ RES US! ..are slash and freako gonna leave pRu after this ladle?
The Usual Suspects, the return of Kod!
Immortal Dynasty, will they all cry lag and disconnect as usual?

There is still time to sign up, for those who haven't.

Are you like trying to be an announcer, talking like that?

Ok, but why did I add this signature? I was like 15 and thought I was smart? What a brat.

we just looked at the topics for concern for the last ladle. which before i thought we would do that about every 3 ladles. However we may want to have a vote for this one to discuss the bad admin command usage.

Agreed. We are only supposed to vote every three ladles. I do think we should address the potential badadmin problem. If we don't, we are liable to have somebody do something bad, because we didn't establish some sort of rule.

Didn't you pass a [stupid] vote to have only admins and no team leaders last ladle? So if those people you elected as trustworthy are said admins, what's the problem?

Why don't the people who run the servers set the access level to kill at "Owner" that way no admins can abuse it. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no reason to /admin kill anyone during a Fort match.

Agreed. There are a few admins who think they can "help" their team by adminkilling the other team. Armagetron is a friendly game (except killing), and you should be happy that we can have a game like this.

Well, the (now fixed) bug where people would get stuck on walls forever instead of getting killed would come to mind. Fact is, those who want to admin a match need certain commands and those are all potentially dangerous.

My thoughts exactly. I really think that making the penalty appropriately harsh will take care of the problem. The problem really can't be necessarily solved by server owners. For instance, although my wife knows that I plan to be available for every ladle, life happens. I try to ensure that a few others in tron have owner access as well if I am not around. But, with some careful planning on my part, my servers have been around for 3 Ladles that I could not attend. Part of what makes that work is proper setup and planning on my part. But, the other part is other people being able to execute the commands necessary to admin things. Therefore, I have to concur that admins need access to "dangerous" commands.

What are you people on about anyways? Have we ever had a situation where someone with invalid reasons started adminkilling the opposing team..? I'd assume none of the people who are participating in the ladle are that moronic.

Luck, is VcL going to be in the ladle? I heard something about it, if not then make work of it. :)

Why not have TaZ and Codehunter on the roster too? Ninja and Fight are no regular fort players. C'mon, bring out your best players and do your best.

On the Ladle page, (http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php? ... enge_Board) it shows two different times for the rounds on the bracket and on the time chart. I assume we're going by the top one?
