Try my TheServerPharm:Fortress Freedom! It is hosted in Chicago, IL. Now that may not sound ideal..but...in a traceroute you will discover that my servers that are hosted in Chicago are only one network hop past New York, where the main intercontinental fiber line enters the United States. It actually works better for some Euros than some West Coast people. That is why I host stuff there for Euro/American interaction.

We could do it like last time or we could open up a sign up thread and see what the response is like.....

We did. Every one on the European team was from Europe. But if you mean the best players in Europe then the answer would probably be no....but you can say the same thing about the US team as well...

not to sound mean or controlling. But given how big fortress is becoming, I think that the procedure that was followed last time may be best. You can open a sign up thread to get interested players to sign up, but I would much prefer that a couple of the Best Fortress Players in Tron be chosen as team captains so they can "cherry pick" the best players for the best competition possible. For instance, I might sign up (doubtful but just as an example), but personally hope that better players than me represent the USA!

Well even if we use the thread to see who is interested in playing, the players that play should be decided on their skillz. (not like who ever signs up first etc.)
Its gonna be a subjective one. I would say the easiest way is to have two captains pick the teams.
To do this collectively, the only way to do it may be is for each player that wants to play to vote who should be in the team, but this seems a lil tedious.

Also we might have enuff to have two teams per continent depending on the interest....it could be 1 team per side 6vs6/8vs8 or 2 teams per side 6vs6/8vs8

I thought it would be best to do 2 teams 6v6.
/me volunteers to help coordinate since /me is NOT qualified to play! I have a Euro fortress server and 2 American fortress servers that I would gladly volunteer for this effort!

I do think we should vote on captains-but to limit the pool they should be nominated.

Shouldn't it be more of who wants to be a captain? And then we vote on those who want to?
