Upgrading to phpBB3

I would do a search for posts by any author to get the latest post, but that doesn't work any more
Apart from this: http://forums3.armagetronad.net/search. ... d=newposts which only works if you're not logged in and isn't linked to on the main page.

That works if you're logged in or not logged in and there is a link to it at the top of every page (View new posts) and on the right side of the forum index (View new posts).

You don't fully understand
When I'm not logged in, there is no link to that page. At least none I could find.
When I'm logged in, that page gives only the posts that are new in the current session, as opposed to the last thousand or so it gives me when not logged in. Since the forum's idea of what I have read are occasionally wrong (browser crashed, or I plain forgot to read something, or I get thrown out of a session), such a 'find all recent posts without having to browse through all subforums' is handy.

Edit, another little quibble: previously, if your inbox was full and you got a new PM, old PMs would be deleted automatically. Now new messages are put on hold until you delete messages manually. I liked the old way better. It let me be lazy, keeping all messages around to keep track of current conversations, while still getting rid of old ones and saving those I didn't want deleted. In short, the current system assumes all messages are important until told so otherwise, while the old system assumed all messages unimportant unless told otherwise. The old system matches reality much better.

Anyways, nice work on the skin. I always found fiddling with PHPBB CSS to be more annoying than others.

What do you mean? Resolution deals with quality. You're saying the page looks pixelized?

Many sites do set the font size. But setting it to some ratio ≠ 1 of my preference (I mean an actual browser setting!) for the main body of text is still fairly uncommon. So Just Do The Right Thing.

One more (unimportant)thing, the lightcycles displayed inside polls are squished.

Just remembered a patch I had to make for index.php. That's fixed one minor thing. Also some changes to the css (font size/color) and header (link order/color).
