Well, I' d like to thank all the Z-man, and ALL the dev's in what I think is the best way that I can...by contributing as much as I can. Before I found tron, I had been looking for an open source project that I was interesting, fun, and quite frankly, nicely enough run, to participate in.
Z-Man has espoused an appropriate level of philosophical chaos and freedom, while allowing structures and organizations to form.
The current development team will gladly interact with players and server admins, and even help.
This was the kind of community that I was looking to join, to have a hobby, when I became a house husband. Although, I am looking for part time work. Even after finding such, I will still have time to devote to the community here. And I find it very rewarding to participate.
I appreciate all the encouragement that all of you have shared, and all the help that all of you have given. I have never seen an open source gaming project with quite as vibrant and fun a community as Armagetronad has developed. That's why I am here.
I think that we have a lot to be proud of, and a lot of upward potential. I also think our greatest strength is the diversity of communities that has formed. For example, some people fit in beautifully in the Wild West community, but not elsewhere. Some people do great anywhere but the Wild West community! Yet I don't think that anyone could sanely argue that the Wild West should be closed down!
Strength through chaos and diversity...
To me, that's one of the things that the whole idea of Open Source is about! FREEDOM!
Sorry about the long rant. But you dev's and your work really inspire me
