Tronic Spoon/Cup (Bowl)

Post by Word »

Does it exist?
and if it doesn't, is the Armagetron Community going to bring it back to life?

Can we win money there (i just read the wiki article and i'm curious now xD ):D :D

i think it's a bit stupid to sign up our team every week, so i suggest i sign us up just once and that's enough. I would put our team off the list when we don't have time, i think that would be an easier way. (the same with tronic ladle, we play in nearly all of them) http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php?title=THE_SPOON
this is almost empty: http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php? ... _World_Cup
16,000 £ per team: http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php?title=TRONICv1.2
16,000 £ per player: http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php?title=Tronic

To play weekly Spoons we'll need imo:
1. New formula for the event
or
2. 10xmore fortress players and sth like MCP mentioned in other topic, so this tourney would be easy to organise and can be played by 1/10 or 1/20 of all fort players, because only such number have the powers to play tournies every week.

Ladles are played. 1st Bowl is coming in june. The Cup - who knows?

The Tron World Cup was a separate tournament from TRONIC events.

The Bowl is June 7th.

The preliminary date for the Cup is Sunday December 23rd, 2012.

to get £16000 for being a player on the winning team
we need 1 million players each paying £1 entry fee into the tronic cup

glad it piqued your interest
word

it's only going to be a reality depending on what we do as players :)
looks like we are trying to hit the tronic bowl in summer

here's my most recent idea about players and timing:

I like the idea, but I (like you) think it will be hard to get more attention from potential players to reach 1000 000. Armagetron needs more publicity... :)

I finished reading your text and I think the system is as easy as possible; it reminds me of the soccer world cup. great work :D

I am not sure if summer is a good time because most people play in autumn and winter.

Luckily, it's always summer somewhere. Tron is global, remember?

Not wanting to be nitpicky, but right now, it's either Autumn or Spring anywhere on earth. Apart from those places that only have 'heavy rain' and 'extremely heavy rain' as seasons.

Also, good to see 2020 come at least halfway to his senses. Yes, that schedule is much better than the single day one.

We have hot and wet, hot and dry, and windy, but we get windy twice a year. We don't really have cold, more like "possibility of cold day" for several weeks around the new year.

And we're in windy right now. I had to ride to work yesterday into a headwind that never let up, and I guarantee was at least 15 mph (with gusts up to 30, they had to stop construction downtown because of the wind), and the ride is 10 miles. I was pretty tired when I got to work.

Man, that wind is killer. I just rode home from work 5 miles into 20 mph winds. It's even harder for me because I'm pretty fat and that creates a lot of wind resistance. Also, it's not even 50 degrees out so I was rpretty cold too. I'm such a wuss.

Oh yeah, back to topic. Tronic Cup. Awesome. Promotion. In due time.

Ahh, below 50 degrees I wear a windbreaker and at least one long-sleeved shirt. I'll double up the long sleeves and pants for even colder weather. Don't yet have goggles, so I can't ride when the windchill is low enough to freeze my eyeballs.

Yeah, tronic cup, awesome. Hey, talking about riding bicycles is always on-topic in a light cycle forum.

i ride a bicycle
and i had a sublime insight when i changed the settings on my machine for maximum beauty
with mirror black floor
and it was serene
and the notion of a bike noise was ugly
so
silence for me from now on
apart from music and the sound of my teammates if needed :)

@z-man heheheeh
i have always been in my senses
and if we get that number of players
we will be doing crazy things in ridiculously tight schedules
:)

as for time-zones
most of us playing live in the northern hemisphere
hence what word is saying is relatively and generally true
this is more an autumn-winter game
but let's try for this summer event
why not?
it's only one night :)

nowai. I can't play without the cycle engines. (In fact I have 4 different engines to choose from.) I play using my ears just as much as my eyes. Just the other day I heard someone driving up behind me really fast, and before I even thought to glance (since they were off screen), I just turned left once, reflexively, and they slammed into my wall.

Also, when playing defense in Fort/CTF, if there is an explosion off screen I need to know so I can check for holes. Sumo too actually.
