I like random. ....
Give me random!
I know Ww is pretty much a noob fortress team, we are ok with it!
What is the worst that will happen to us in the long run? I say the worst is that we get better!
Just so I'm clear, and perhaps Compguy two, because he entered the discussion a bit later than most of us.
If no one's watching the final who really cares who's left at the end; the best team should win either way.
Maybe when we have mirror servers set up etc so specs can watch the final we might want seeding.
Random also might give newer teams/players a chance to play more in the event too.
I was really happy to have found a spectator spot in the last ladle final. And I think seeding makes more sense when you have something like the AFL versus the ladle. I'm kind of indifferent to either really.
Mirrored servers? sounds like a good idea!
Honestly, I still don't fully understand the value of seeded vs. random. My experiences in these kinds of things are rather limited! I hope to see more discussion on this in a future thread. For those of you who don't know, I recently was chosen to be the co-leader of the fast-growing Wild West fortress division. I am very driven to push Wild West to success!
Also, to clue you guys in more to my plans with The Server Pharm.
Normally, I will have a mix of ordinary servers up that different teams/clans in tron can borrow and a few classic/creative servers. During tournaments that I sponsor, or the Ladle. For the purpose of maximum performance, those servers will go down and only the relavant tournament servers will be up. As a former network engineer I am real big into QOS. Perhaps during a Ladle, I could help provide such mirrored service?
