Money Comp

Post by Ralf »

I think a money competition should be made. Not clans just individual free for all winner takes all maybe like 10% to the organizer.

What's stopping you from organizing it? Just do it man! Let us know how it turns out.

What do you have in mind? Why don't you lay out some specifics?

I think it would be better with teams. Could you imagine how many individual players would sign up if money was involved? The tournament would take months.

Naa it could be a one day tournament. Just need an organizer.
Funding can be done from money each competitior puts in.

How professional & organized is dependent on how it is carried out.
I don't agree with your pessimistic conclusions even if there were previous tournaments that were carried out in that way. Money doesn't necesaarily have to be big money. Start small and if the competition grows so will the money$

well, atm it's too easy to have a modified client, or to use macros...
if money comes in the game, some people will probably reconsider cheating.

Yeah, I almost considered setting up a match for money once before, but the cheating thing is a problem. I guess if it was with teams, it might be possible to curb some of this; unless you have a whole team of cheaters. If we can think of a way to make it fair, I'll organize a "Money Comp".

Another hurdle is payment. If everyone used PayPay, then it's easy to set up an account and distribute funds. But, not everyone can use PayPal, ore doesn't want to. What alternative is there? I haven't done the research yet.

Exactly
players don't even have game accounts
just compare it to css or smth..

1200, hardly a conclusion, an opinion

Who here would honestly pay to play in a ladle..?

I'm not sure what game accounts are but whatever it is if we don't have it there may be other ways to go about it like using Paypal like Sinewav said. There maybe other routes nobody has even considered yet...

Well it seemed like a conclusive opinion to me. i just like to keep an open mind about everything. Instead of just looking at why it couldn't be done why not also look at how it could be done.

We are talking about establishing a new comp that involves money. We are not talking about trying to get money involved in every touny that already exists.

Well if modifying the client is cheating then i guess people are already cheating in tournaments so whats new??
