cursory question from my brain

Post by ||| »

I normally don't double bind. [ I used to do ] .
Well I was 5 minutes ago trying to understand something that's perhaps only casuality, or maybe not. Let me explain:

I use a mechanical DELL keyboard, and when I double bind with it, for example my U turns are 3 cm width.

I have an extra extra extra bad modern and cheap not mechanical for urgency use keyboard closed in a cupboard. Well, i take it, i plug in my box and i start armagetron game again.

And surprise !!!
With this extra extra extra bad modern and cheap not mechanical for urgency use keyboard closed in a cupboard, my U turns are 0,5 cm width...................... Erm...... I am not sleeping, i am confused.

Is this normal ? I was using same settings, same computer, same all [ except keyboard ] .....
Now I think if it's possible to control using for example xset or other kind of apps to be quicky turning.
Don't know, i feel just astonish when things like this happens ....

Sorry for this stupid questions, I'll be waiting reply to understand this X file.

keyboards having differences in how they respond to presses, interesting idea that could explain quite a bit...

wow, i never realised the keyboard was a significant part of that process in terms of key delay. interesting...

anyway, on many systems you can go into BIOS / CMOS and alter the built-in mandatory keystroke delay. also, in some OS's you can manipulate this setting.

I have one thing for sure,
I never take away from my side mechanical keyboard.
It doesn't matter if is more slow than others.

i think it would be due to the fact that alot of new keyboards have a usb cable, and ome with a ps/2 adapter, so when you hit keys, they have to be translated for the ps/2 port, which takes longer, whereas an ancient keyboard would probably plug straight to USB, and that will have a shorter reaction time because of no need for translation.
stakes is high

because all ps/2 - usb adaptors run on z-80 processors at 100 kilohertz.

Well my 2 keyboars I tried are ps/2 [with no adaptor, i hate USB, I really hate ] so don't work different.

Thanks cause is a intelligent answer.

Hmmm, Round Rock doesn't suck. I suppose Round Rock isn't really *owned* by Dell, just populated by Dell employees (and rednecks). The Dell Diamond looks pretty nice, and the whole area around it is pretty nice. Of course, the neighborhood near Dell is full of sex offenders.

Hmm. Not sure where I'm going with this..... (I live about two miles from Dell headquarters :) )

Mmm, I hear it the other way, that he's really cool with his employees (except maybe for the ones that live in India). Of course, I don't have communication channels into Dell, so I only hear what's out on the street on the subject, and Austinites are in love with Dell just because it's an Austin company.
