FPS

Post by FourMJR »

Hello,

I am a long time Aramgetron player (Almost a year now) - and I have noticed that my computer receives alone 3-10 Frames Per Second, which is sickening, because it lags, and jumps.

I am using a Mac, with my graphical/display info being,

ntel GMA X3100:

Chipset Model: GMA X3100
Type: Display
Bus: Built-In
VRAM (Total) : 144 MB
Vendor: Intel (0x8086)
Device ID : 0x2a02
Revision ID : 0x0003
Displays:
Color LCD:
Display Type: LCD
Resolution: 1280 x 800
Depth: 32-bit Color
Built-In: Yes
Core Image: Hardware Accelerated
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Supported
Display Connector:
Status: No display connected
Only problem being during game play I experience annoying lag, and such.

Anyway I can reduce this problem? :|

That's not quite the fastest GPU, but should do better than that. Have you tried disabling features to see which might be the culprit? Although I can't think of any advanced rendering techniques that Arma uses, it might help.

I'm not sure but you might be using another video card than this one.

The original system profiler report looked more like this before being pasted here:

Code: Select all

[bold]Intel GMA X3100:

  Chipset Model: GMA X3100
  ...
  Displays:
    [bold]Color LCD:
      Display Type: LCD
      ...
    [bold]Display Connector:
      Status: No display connected

[Other cards here]
Displays connected to other cards wouldn't show up under the same card. Besides, there's no Mac that can have a GMA and another GPU that I know of.

I get the same kind of report (note that I don't have a GMA though) but with good performance, if you want some personal experience from someone technically inclined too.

Some intel chips are very bad at rendering smooth lines. If that setting is enabled (Line Antialising in Detail Settings), disable it.
