Basic Configuration Help

Post by ~=R.Adrenaline=~ »

Alright. I, as you would probably know, am new to all this Armagetron jazz. Anyway, I have noticed that the configuration in the program files of Armagetron Advanced are a little more intricate than what I understand. I'm running Mac OS X Tiger, with Beta 0.3.0. I am wondering how to setup the config files, because I find it unneccesary to type in my special characters setup for my nickname, along with my colors, because they change every time I go into my Player Setup because of over the top color choices. I know I'm new, and I hope I get good help because I really don't understand this. Thanks guys, and by the looks of this forum, it seems like a big success, really active and such.

EDIT: I also found out that in Mac OS X Tiger, if you go to your User files, Library, Application Support, Armagetron Advanced, and var, you should find your user.cfg file. It took me a while though :P

for the colors, one thing you can do is create a new (plaintext) file in the same directory as user.cfg, autoexec.cfg, and put your colors there:

Code: Select all

COLOR_R_1 42
COLOR_G_1 1337
COLOR_B_1 314
That way they override whatever you chose in the game (by opening the player setup menu) at every start of arma or if you do INCLUDE autoexec.cfg.
There's no place like ::1
