Wow, really nice banners!
I feel so lame to come with a comment. Like a kid tapping on the shoulder of giants.
I think sadly the banners are hard to read. But I dont know/understand enough about graphic creation to point at the problem.
But keep the eye and the pyramid idea. I thing you really have something there (sorry if its lucifer that suggested it, I kinda went fast through the posts.)

no, a friend showed me how to make that exact effect. it's just done through blending options on the text layer.

Wow, I really like the one marked pyalarm1.png, with the ricepaper background. (At least, I once had a background tile called ricepaper that looked similar to that) Can I get it in 48x202? Or just 48px high with whatever width is needed to look the same? I'll see if I can scale it with the GIMP, but I'm expecting the wonderful details that I like so much to kinda disappear when I scale it.
