HELP!!! -> some variety of logic/pattern problem

Post by HellBlade »

Alright so I really need help on this problem, I have been trying for the past three days but can't find the pattern. I seriously stared at this for about 2 hours, I even changed the letters for each word into numbers and that didn't help... so here it is(you have to find the pattern between the 6 words and choose either a b or c to continue the pattern)

GEL
GROUP
PLACE
FIXED
RESOLUTE
ADJUST

A. USELESS
B. COLLECTION
C. AFGHAN

BTW for the other 11 patterns, none of them have had anything to do with the meaning of the words but this might be different.

if you still don't get what I'm talking about here are a couple examples:

TEA
EYE
SEA
QUEUE
ARE
WHY

A. YOU
B. ATE
C. WEE

in that one the pattern was that all of the words were actually letters phonetically spelled out.

another example:

CIVIC
LIVID
MIX
MILL
VIVID
DILL

A. MIMIC
B. LICIT
C. MINIM

in that one all of the words were made up of roman numerals, so mimic (M = 1000 I = 1 C = 100)

I believe for the first one it's B, collection, but I couldn't say why. That just is what seems to fit.

A weak pattern would be that the words don't contain a double consonant. AFGHAN would it be, then.
