Some page wrote:download rawrite2.exe and sbm.bin off the internet (do a search) Once you have these files, put them both in the same folder. Get a blank floppy, put it in the floppy drive, and then run rawrite2.exe. Take the floppy that this program creates, put it in the computer you are installing the OS on, and turn it on. Make sure your bios is booting to floppy. A menu will come up, select CD-rom, hit enter, and walla, you will boot your CD.
The CD, of course, is any CD-based distribution you like. Full thread here:

Those instructions must be followed on a windows pc, yes. When you run the installer CD, it will have the stuff you need to reformat your hard drive, with a nice GUI interface, usually.

start a console and do "df -kv". Post the results here.

It might be that you checked the wrong partition, or that you allocated lots of space for other OS, or many other things.

For folks that don't need a gui on their server, I just installed Ubuntu Server Edition, and comparing it subjectively to the old Gentoo server, it appears to run like 10x faster. (Of course, that means I no longer have a server with a gui, heh)

After you repartition with fdisk or cfdisk, there are various mkfs.<fstype> commands that can be run.

I'm going to have to recommend Ubuntu Server Edition. Did I already mention that?

Installing an arma server is pretty easy. Install USE, do "apt-get install libxml2" (to make sure it's there, it was for me). Then from your desktop copy your downloaded armagetronad-dedicated autopackage. Install from there, run it.

It seems a little jumpy running from the autopackage, which I remember being the case. When I get my server able to build software again (which I have to to restore master server #2) I'll rebuild the game server and see how that goes.

I'm extremely sorry for dragging this on for such a long time.

I tried to download Ubuntu but I could not get it to function properly. So I went with Debian. I installed the autopackage however when I try to install tron I get the error message
"An unkown error has occured (exit status 15)"
Does any one know how to solve this problem?
