A Formal Complaint

First off, I apologize if I'm posting in the incorrect forum... I don't really know my way around yet.

I'm a fairly new Armagetron player. I enjoy the fast-paced competitive nature of the game. I've been playing on the Wild West servers as of late. Now, as I am a "newbie", I'm still "learning the ropes" per say. I will accidently kill one of my teammates on occasion. I happened to do this once a few days ago. I apologized promptly. Most everyone on my team got very angry and voted to kick and ban me immediately. Although only banned for around 20 minutes, this annoyed me greatly. The same day, in another Wild West server, I accidently did the same thing over. Although different players, I was kicked and banned yet again. Yesterday, I failed to kill a member of the opposite team when I was the only player on our team left. I was kicked and banned for 2500 minutes. I don't appreciate being treated like this... I know there are quite a few members of the community that are kind and helpful. I urge the creators and maintainers of Armagetron to somehow alter or enhance the "player police" feature so that new players won't be "bullied".

That's pretty rough treatment. Unfortunately, practically all of the annoying jerks who do this stuff don't come to the forums, so this isn't that effective.

Some people on AA are nice, some aren't... if you go to a few servers that others point out, you'll get much nicer treatment... I'd suggest Crazy Tronner's Wild Fortress myself, though Wild West CTF isn't half-bad either, depending on the time of day you get on.

That would be true maybe 2 months ago but now I think more europeans are a bit immature than americans now.

Sorry this happened to you, but I don't want you to think we're ignoring your request.

It is already possible to disable polls, and even configure them to a large extent. So your request has already existed for quite some time. It's up to server administrators to decide how to run their servers, so I'd suggest you find the WW server admin and talk to him.

Durka (aka DDMJ) and Manta are the admins of Wild West servers - try speaking to either of them.

players get to know each other
and informal teams are created

some players are pretty harsh

bite the bullet
get back in there
and show them who's boss

I think that's pretty hard if you're banned for 2500 minutes, with the risk of getting banned for even longer once you can get back in.

yeah it sucks when the assholes outnuber the good guys. try going to a mor friendly enviroment Durka Durka Land is great for less skillled players. lots of nice people and there are some good player willing to teach you.

its there server, the admins have a right to choose. if you dont like the servers policy then go to another server or start your own.

granted this is not in any way, an isolated incident and has happened to many other people.

Man !

instead of pushing "newbies" to ddl...saying they need to learn fortress...what they won't ever learn there...teach them...don't be assholes

the ppl in ddl(durka durka land) won't ever teach you to fortress...

then you say there isn't enough fortress players and too munch ddl players...woah you're well minded then

trev...i'm sorry, these times aren't really friendly to "noobs"...fortress is a very good gameplay...but assholes went in...i can't play on a fort server 2minutes without seeing tons of polls against newbies who'ill come to ddl later

there's no wonder...kick newbies and get no new players...well done, you're making me hate these servers...maybe even quitting arma if it gets worse and worse
