Master Log-in
I was playing and quit out, then I went back to internet game and this came up, it still let me play though.
It didn't let you in, it was full. *THEN* it used the cached serverlist on your machine for the master server browser. I'd imagine you hit it at the same time I hit it last night when it was full. So just like when the master server can't be reached, the game used the server list from the last time it *could* reach the master server.Zapple wrote:And if you would read my post you would see what really happend
Obvisiosly it wasnt full because it let me in
IT would say a different thing then wouldnt it? Like "The master server could not be reached"Lucifer wrote:It didn't let you in, it was full. *THEN* it used the cached serverlist on your machine for the master server browser. Not what it really says now, right?
Regardless of why it can't retrieve the server lsit from the master server, it will use the locally stored serverlist anytime it can't use the list from the master server. At least, that's my understanding of it.Zapple wrote:IT would say a different thing then wouldnt it? Like "The master server could not be reached"Lucifer wrote:

You see, then the game pings each server in the list to find out how many players are there, who they are, your score, and stuff. So the master server just gives up a list of servers that doesn't have a lot of information in it. If you ever want to know what information you *do* get from the master server, somewhere there's a file called "frommaster.srv". In Linux this file is at /home/yourname/.armagetronad/var/ . Take a look at it and what I'm saying will make a lot more sense.
Don't assume there is any logic to what the error message says. After all, it was written by volunteer(s), who likely had a low priority for fixing up the various messages that were programmed in.Zapple wrote:IT would say a different thing then wouldnt it?
