i don't get it

they were scheduled to play at 7.30pm gmt
and with the finals at 9pm gmt
they had loads of time...

so...
they turned the quarters into a semi
(since there were not any teams 5 and 6)
and organised to meet at 8.15pm gmt?

no idea where the other figures came from...

i have tried to be clear about the 9pm gmt start
because that seems to be the friendliest time for europe and america to compete

can i suggest that teams stick to start times
since a loss of self-discipline from any one player
could lead to team delays and schedules delayed etc
(i mean
imagine 1000 players, 124 teams, 64 simultanous games in the first round...
the final could be delayed for hours if we allow just one slip-up...
if you can imagine us getting 1000 players playing fortress that is : )

45mins seems good for best of 3 for most games...
i would rather not give into extending the game length
because the source of the problem would remain:
people not getting to the right server on time...
i believe we have to be serious with timing
either with the self-organised ethos of tronic games
or the more managed games of tst or world championship (rip)

As I said on the Wiki, we've done this in the past (skipping the quarter finals). It also makes sense since it makes the even take less time (1hr 30min) instead of playing for 45, waiting for 45, playing again for 45.
