I've never seen it happen.
But yes, Grapes are wonderful things. and they work beautiful as icecubes. I swear, you'll have cold drinks that never go watery.
They also make a nice alternative to popsicles when you eat them plain frozen, not in drinks. I usually use them for mixed drinks.. I'm not sure grapes and beer taste so good together. But for a vodka and orange drink, or any other mixed drink, they're great.
Yay for frozen grapes!

I don't know if I'd try grapes in say, lemonaid or kool-aid, the usual summer drinks, at my house. I just can't quite imagine the tastes lining up.

If I was worried of the sake of my taste buds on such a diet, grapes wouldn't be my starting point.

I wonder how they'd work in tea, and with near boiling tea at that. It could make for a nice end to a cup of tea to eat some grapes. :)

Man, when I was a kid in Arizona, we had pomegranate trees everywhere. We used to pick the fruit and eat them all the time. It was awesome.

I tried the frozen grape thing and had one problem: after spending some seconds in the drink, the grapes sink to the bottom. From there, they can't cool the drink efficiently any more, and the upper parts stay warm. Any way around that?

Why on earth do your grapes sink? Shouldn't they be less dense than water?

I've never had problems with sinking grapes. So I'm not sure what you should do about that. What kind of drink did you put them in? May I suggest a stir stick?

Fonkay: Orange juice. Drink densities don't vary that much, and alcoholic beverages should be less dense.

They frigging should. I did a test and the things sink quite rapidly in non-frozen state, so I assume the buoyancy they get from being frozen doesn't last long. I was using Thompson Seedless, white grapes with a good solid consistency, a nice feeling when you bite them.

Wrtl: haha.

No, but ice cubes have no problem with that. The orange juice packs are a bit too big to comfortably fit into the fridge.
