I'm not sure if it is already a feature or has been suggested, but how about the chance to PM other people by typis s and puting /namehere blah blah blah or something like that. And if they insult you, you can block them. You could also turn off private chat alltogether. I would love to see that in the next client update!

Try /msg unambiguouspartofname message on supporting servers.

You can silence others from the esc menu.
