Nothing from my point of view.

The current explanation for rubber is that your cycle's front bit is slightly elastic and can pick up the energy of the impact, or rather the force that drives the cycle ahead; in my view, the cycle is pushed forward by the wall that builds up behind it, and the wall does not come from the cycle, but the grid emits it. Anyway, this elastic thing has only a finite durability, but it can heal. I wouldn't know of any sci-fi-mumbo-jumbo term that describes such a thing, so I went with a real world material.
Lucifer wrote:Then add another reservoir of sorts, that goes from 0 to 1 and represents the likelihood that the wall will kick you away, causing a turn one axis opposite from the wall.
Making any game mechanism turn your cycle is not a good idea, IMHO. Prediction errors on the client have very distracting effects then.

We could try to make the walls bend when you drive into them :) The current engine can't do it, but that shouldn't stop us.
Lucifer wrote:Then add something where if there's another wall, you wind up some equal distance between them, accelerating, like a particle accelerator. :)
You mean, wherever you enter a tunnel, the two walls push you away and you end up in the center?
Lucifer wrote:Then all the rubber players will become smeg repellant players. :)
Or just smeg players :) I wonder whether Tank would allow this. "rubber" is not exactly family game compliant when looked at from a certain angle either.

We could replace the second part with some sort of force field around the wall, call it something cool like "smeg repellent field" or even "inverse gravity field" or something. Or make up some electrical sounding explanation, like the cycles are positively charged and so are the walls. Anyway, the end result is that the slowdown can still be there, but turn it into a real slow down instead of an artificial one (configurable, of course).

ok so i wont say were elite but we have some very good players. **Rubber Players** or last man standing.

Dr34m.iZm
AppleZ.iZm

are the leaders. i am teen and we also have Rikuma.iZm and Minefield.iZm

Zman they did make fun of our clan by putting a j infront of izm to make it .jizm.

Me and Applez were in ~*Sp*~ clan and Dr34m was in XzL. Minefield had his own clan but idk about rikuma.

Rikuma was in Element.

And as far as High Rubber and Low Rubbers being the same thing...That's like saying someone who is 4 feet tall is as capable as someone 7 feet tall. Deathmatch. Sure, but what server type is it NOT possible to earn points (eventually winning the match) by killing other players?

Fortress and Sumo players are just as ignorant and close-minded as "rubber" players. You say that we cannot beat you in your server type. Probably not. But that is not to say that we have no skill, as I'm sure if the average Fort/Sumo player entered a "High-Rubber Deathmatch" server, they would not win so readily.

I have high ping, so you are right to assume I play rubber to deal with lag. But I also use the lag-o-meter to avoid such a predicament as best I can. If I had relatively normal ping (not 200+), I would play Fortress and Sumo frequently. I do feel those styles rely on a heightened sense of grid-awareness, ultimately making you a better dogfighter/open player, in general.

The monotony of impossibly-tight seals in High-Rubber Deathmatch is a bore, I'm sure you all can agree. But "High-Rubber Deathmatch" IS a style of play all to itself, regardless of what the original use or design for rubber was. And who's to say you have to buy a seperate pair of shoes if the first set does the trick?

There is something to gain from all styles of play.

Hmmm. In a nutshell, rubber makes it harder to die. Therefore, an elite rubber player is someone who is really good at not dying on servers where's it's harder to die....

Because they're immortal. Duh. How do you kill someone who can't die?

Just to put this out there but i think JP and wT are the best rubber clans. There should be some kind of Rubber Tournament sort of like Ladle but not fortress. Of course there are different clans that like different types of rubber, so i think 15 is good as its not to high or low for rubber (also because its like ddl and it pwns  ).
Anyways back to the topic, where do you guys play? you should try some ddl to.
bring back ddl!

The added emphasis should answer this question.

I love how you're not even trying to understand. It's amazing. It's like "look everybody, I need crutches and I'm proud of it, but I don't even understand why!!!"

IN the same vein that I was talking, there's nothing wrong with prefering the big legos over the small legos, really. I like both, that's for sure. There's only something wrong with only playing with the big legos, complaining when all someone has are the small legos, and declaring yourself a better lego engineer even though you can only work with the big legos. Maybe you (or anybody else edit: it's not clear, but I"m usin "you" as the plural "all of you", not as "You, HoAX") starts to see why we pick on "elite rubber players". We don't pick on regular rubber players for the same reason we dont' pick on people with disabilities....
