Trouble Shoot

Post by BlackWolf »

This might be a dumb idea and it may not be feasible due to a myriad of problems but is it possible to create a quick trouble shoot section to the wiki for server administration?

I know there are most answers to questions within the wiki itself but I often see many people asking for help within servers etc for getting their server to talk to master etc, how to alter scoring etc.

So I was thinking if there was a quick referance guide it might be easier to direct people to the trouble shoot list.

I was actually looking on the wiki to see if there was a reason why the ladder wasnt working on a server I admin and I found it hard to find any info and maybe there is none but if there had been a trouble shoot section I would of gone there first to look.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you think. :)

Have you tried the FAQ? It tradidionally also servers for troubleshooting purposes, and some of the most frequent problems are described there.

I did look at FAQ, though I was thinking of something that maybe got more into the nittygritty of some problems.

As I said I know there can be many many things go wrong and I'm not sure where you would draw the line or if you could :? and to trouble shoot some finer prblem may be just way too hard.

In answer to pavelo, LOL I would have no idea how do do such a thing but I am more than willing to help in some way. I can only offer a "noobs" perspective, no tech advice whatsoever.
