How to turn around corners

Post by Jonathan »

I just downloaded a release and played a bit in a local game. Apparently I didn't lose my timing. :)

Indeed no 16-bit depth buffer.

not sure if this is the point but wouldnt that make a difference depending on how much rubber there is?

Man, talk about missed timing. I used to be able to grind on the outside of a corner, and turn to match the corner and still have a grind that was too close to be worth trying to adjust. (you know, the same turn you'd do on the inside of the corner, only you don't have rubber to help you)

Now? I just hit the corner, I turn too early and die. Problem is, the turn is programmed into me, and I'm having a hard time removing it from my game.

Grrrrr.......

A problem I get when I try this all the time, and am in the proper state to do it at all, is that I'm occasionally off by one frame. If it's hard to do something consistently it's when quantization effects are significant.

Not using (or taking advantage of) any rubber on the outside. :D
