since the last two ladles have been pretty bad for the monkeys
i am attempting to formalise the team
but it looks like most players are committed to other clans or teams

strange as it may sound
i just watched hotel rwanda
and here i am
asking people to join a team that means more than just a computer game team

i know most people reading this as cynics
and don't agree or understand with my motives
but i either sit and watch what is going on in the world and feel powerless
or i stick to my ideals
however peculiar they may be

i believe in teamwork
i am not looking for the best players
i am looking for the best teammates

because i believe
a good team
can beat
a team of good players

i am looking for the opportunity to prove this right

and for those who can't read this post

or are frustrated

I'm sort of interested, monkey clan can't do it at that time but i can't delete it because the overall wiki people don't like my George Bush posts. So I might be interested and it would be really nice if you would delete monkey clan from the ladle challenge board.

I do really wish you good luck on the team 2020. You are one of the players that I have always got on with in the past and do hope that TM can regain some of its glory days.

Having played for TM we have had a bit of a problem with new guys signing up who aren't necessarily that great, but I do have to comment that the first time I played there were objections to me joining as I wasn't viewed as good enough. And surely its one of the points of the ladle to try to widen its net to as many players as possible. Currently you are the only one doing that(I cant check the wiki to confirm this at the moment as it has been hijacked by some vigra/poker toting git), the rest are clans, or teams. Without teams like TM there is absolutely no entry point for up and coming players since a new player would have to join a clan/team in order to play. Or they could create an entire team of new guys, Which is unlikely as the ladle is intimidating to new players and forming your own team for entry is even more intimidating.

My point is that altho you are trying to make TM more exclusive this may not be good for the spreading of tron. This does however leave me in the unfortunate position of asking you to play with a sub-par team while others(such as me) go off and join clans/teams in order to stand a chance of winning. Maybe we can set up a way of spreading around the new players.

You've asked me to play for TM in the past and although I almost certainly will be playing for x if I can make it, if there are more x'ers than needed ill see if I can join you.

Yes, TM was created specifically to try to get new players involved. Anarchic Wanderers was the eclectic bunch who were not affiliated to clans... but it kept on winning. Players were meant to start up their own teams and canvass and adopt a mixture of experienced players. I still hold to this idea, only I don't want to play with players who are not team-players. I don't care on how good people are, really, but I do care when team-mates don't listen to team-mates and bugger things up for other players after they have been asked.

When I was a beginner, in the glorious noob days hehe, I loved playing fortress; just trying to survive was my objective. Getting out of the launch and surviving till the end of the round was a major success in my book, without interfering with my own team-mates play. I certainly didn't play defence. I mostly hung around in midfield, and tried to attack when there was space available.

This attitude doesn't take much. A little respect for teammates, I think.

Still, I think it reasonable that superb teams are formed, because the finals are games full of skillful players. I haven't been in a final for months now, and I don't expect to be for a good while to come. But that's the way it is.

So, thanks... the team is open, and the only restriction for entry is that players are team-players. That's it.
