Well it happens for me with 0.2.8.2.1 and 0.3.0 only when both machines are in a local network (actually they are even at the same switch). When the server is somewhere in the internet I can play normally against the AIs.z-man wrote:Hmm, there once was a bug that caused artificial lag for AI players; the turns they made would be transferred to the clients up to one second too late. But I think it's already fixed in 0.2.8.2.1.

There is the possibility that something unusual in your network's timings throws off parts of AA's system. If you manage to catch the problem on tape, I can have a look at it. Like last time: version 0.2.8.2.1, with or without the other patch as you like, both client and server recordings, and very important: not too many rounds played (there already were AI desync warnings in your last recording, they turn into errors really fast). There's two possible results here, either our network code sucks, or your network sucks. Does a simple ping between the systems show any anomalies?
Ping doesn't show anything unsusual... will make a client and server recording this evening.
Any chance to get my OpenBSD 4.0 packages uploaded to aabeta and/or posted on the main download site? =)

Attached the recordings. Hope you can see the lag issue there.

It's a poll in the developer's forum. Were you planning on maintaining the openbsd port?
