Have you tried Dev-C++ in your small compiler search?

I use WXP Pro and have Borlland C++BuilderX in the Version 1.0.0.1786 installed and have no Start-Problems. I can try other Windows Versions, Start with W95, excluding W2K and WNT, witch Windows Version do you use?

I also installed DevC++ but I can't use it as easy than Borland.

I tried to compile the Project in the Version initial from Ad start, but i got a lot of errors.

A lot of the Errors are look like JAVA, did you install a java-SDK, and which?
I have Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.4.1 from Sun installed.

I do a little search, and the crash could be a bug if I understand the context.

The best result is here:

I checked the installation guide:
Borland wrote: Während C++BuilderX auf mehreren anderen Plattformen installiert werden kann, unterstützt dieser Release offiziell nur die folgenden Betriebssysteme:

* Windows 2000
* Windows XP
* RedHat Linux Enterprise Workstation 2.1
* Solaris 8
:cry:

Sorry for posting a part in german :oops:

It can be that there must be some special pgm's installed to make W98SE work like WXP, im not finished with install W98SE ( i try it on my slowest Laptop)
