Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

I hate to be the devils advocate here, but I personally have found the first person cam to be the most effective. In tight corridors, I am able to more easily see where an opening is.

Viewmodel. That's all I'm saying.

Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

It's a bit like Linux versus Windows. Many users flock to Windows because it doesn't require them to read documentation, it doesn't require them to configure much, and it "just works". Linux on the other hand (yes, even Ubuntu) requires configuration, it requires one to read documentation...

Re: I would Like to Apologize.

Maybe, so, but I normally try not to come across the way I did in new forums. I've been branded as an a-hole too many times, and I don't intend to get myself branded as such here.

Re: XNA and C#: impressions after one and a half weeks

I will admit, I had trouble with pointers at the beginning. Eventually though, things made perfect sense and I can't see programming any other way. I like challenges, and managing pointers has to be one of the most interesting challenges of all. They can be made immensely simpler though with a share...

I would Like to Apologize.

I realized just how bad my behaviour on these forums has been, and I would like to formally apologize for being an all around a-hole.

I have my opinions. Everyone has their opinions. However, I have no excuse for the rude manner in which I have presented them.

Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

Sorry, I realize I came off as a bit of an a-hole in this thread and in others, so let me apologize for how rude I have been and explain my reasoning better. While having a customizable hud is a very nice feature, not many potential new players are used to seeing something so cluttered. The average ...

Re: XNA and C#: impressions after one and a half weeks

Sorry, but the bigger problem I have with C# is the whole mentality that accompanies it and what is lost when that is all that is ever taught. When you teach C# exclusively in university (as mine tried to do before I basically told them I'm using C++), you stop students from learning a key skill; th...

Re: XNA and C#: impressions after one and a half weeks

There's ton of reasons to bash Microsoft for, but .NET in general and C# in particular are incredibly well designed. I stopped there. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. C# is nothing more that a language forced on us by Microsoft that it is touting as a &...

Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

Concord, not to be rude or anything, but that contributes next to nothing to the thread imo. I am talking about further developing the default HUD to be more useful without having to make any changes to it. No matter how simple you make a customizable hud system, there is a very large majority of pl...

HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

Alright, so I have been playing arma for a while and I must say, I am freaking addicted. However, I have seen some elements of the HUD that are either very weak or could use work. Here are my suggestions on cleaning up the interface. The menus, by far, have to be the worst culprit. While they are fu...

Re: Swearing in arma

I personally think you all need to stop complaining. Swearing is a constant in any online game, and the sooner youall realize it, the better. If the devs wasted their time implementing a swear filter, then think of how much development time will be taken away from bug checking and implementing new, ...
