If opponents don't turn up on time, they forfeit, unless again a team wishes to delay the start... though this causes problems for subsequent timing...
Does this clause mean anything???
If a team doesn't show up with their full team on time offcourse they are going to wish to delay the start time.
Its like saying you can not break this rule unless you ask to break it in the first place.....

I think what its suppose to mean is that you can only delay the match if both teams agree.

Ok thats not what it says tho....guidelines as such should mean what it says.
And speaking of guidelines what the hell is it? Guidelines to me is something people can look and MAY follow but is not as authoritative as the "RULES" that people MUST follow.
Hence why I've played in a bunch of Ladles by now and not a single bout has ever started on time. (although this clause has been there all the time???)
Are there any concrete written down rules for the Ladle??? (somebody post a link if there is.) I would think there should be.

I mean before we get into that we should clear out some other grey areas like "Are we allowing substitutes that are not registered on the day of the tourny?" etc. This has been allowed in past Ladles.
If we allow things like that the cap doesn't really mean anything.
I mean if CT is registered to play in the Ladle i would like to think that they would be allowed to show up with any of their members come the day of the tourny. There should be rules and restrictions but i don't see a big benefit to this restriction except to satisfy the curiosity of some people...
I know some people may say, "Well in the World Cup & other international sports teams have to announce the team prior to the tournaments." Yea true but we are no where near organized and dedicated to the competition and teams are consistently turning up with less than the full team.
I would much rather allow teams to allow subs on the day so that there is more chance of 8vs8 taking place.
I agree. why put a cap on the amount of players? And if you compare it to soccer, the cap would be somewhere around 18, which is about as big as any clan.
but the point is that we are nowhere near as organized as soccer. There's no reason to provide a player list and I don't see why people want them so bad.

hehehe
sorry yeah
hehehe
i think it means that the team that is there in time
might delay
that is
if team A is late
team B might be generous and delay the start
however
this becomes unrealistic when we start having a large number of teams
since delays propagate through the system...
game should start on time
with however many players there are of either team...
I think we should add a 3rd place match to the bracket.
/me agrees. And if we gonna have a 3rd place match why not use this information and have 4 seeds every Ladle? If an open team is one of those 4 teams then perhaps the leader of that team can retain the right for the seed for the team he playes for in the next Ladle.
Also i'd hate to see this comp go over two days cos this has been mentioned somewhere. If it ends up that its gonna take two days then it'd be good for the seeded teams to not have to play on the first day.

/me agrees. We already have 4 seeds from Ladle 17 so we can use them.
1.TR
2.CT
3.X
4.SP

I agree again. Unless a large number of their players are on a different team from the captain.
