Server help(yes i am having troble)

hehe well I had my server running and have had players come in and out of it. i usually shut it down and only put it up when i need it up. Now it is only showing up in the LAN list. i have talk_to_master set as 1. i have mt router port forwarded(i check this when i boot my computer to make sure it is the right port). like i said it worked a few times and now it has stopped. I am really unsure why it will not appear on the master list because i have not made any changes to my settings. any ideas i have been through the wiki.

EDIT: I can connect trough lan but no one can see what I'm typing. anyone else can connect trough internet list. i experimented a bit more with it using center messages which they could see of course but just me through normal chat they could not read.

ummm, can you more clearly state your problem? I'm sorry, I'm not managing to separate the problem from the details.

my server runs and is listed on the master server list to everyone but me. it is listed in the LAN list for me. If i connect through the LAN list the other players can not see what i am typing. my server will not show up on the master list for me to connect to.

basically i can not figure out why it shows it on masters list for anyone accept me.
i'm using 0.3.0 dedicated for windows.
i'm also using 0.3.0 client on the same computer to connect.

I'm going to need a better description of the other problem, where people don't see what you're typing. You're talking about connecting with your client through the LAN browser? Then you press your chat key, whatever it is, and type, and nobody sees it? Do you have this same problem on other servers? Do instant chats work?

I have been through the wiki i have everything set right as fas as i know since it has worked for me before.

i did find a work around by bookmarking it then connecting to the bookmark.

If i do not use this workaround. I can see what anyone types on my computer, but no one but me can see what i type. the server is on the same computer that I'm using to connect to it. I connect through the LAN browser because i can not connect another way accept bookmark now. it is only on my server that i have this trouble. Canada was in there and saw nothing i type also a few others said the same.

What, precisely, do you mean by "nobody can see what I type?" Do you mean chat? Console commands? What is it you type?

The other problems are normal and no reason to worry.

they can see changes i make to the console(thats how i talked to them through round messages) but my chat they can not see

And by "talk" you mean regular player to player talk and not the SAY command on the console? Sure it's not some mundane explanation, like the others pulling your leg or them having silenced you? I actually wouldn't have an expalation, chat messages travel the same way as onter network stuff, and if there'd be a general problem, nothing would work at all for you.

Oh, wait, you were not, by any chance, a specator on the server? If either the server or the client is 0.2.8.0 or earlier, spectators can't chat.

no i was playing and normal chat i use on any other server.

I went to another server Canada was on and he could see what i said. so he did not have me blocked.

Have you been in spectator mode then, perhaps?

AND STOP TALKING LIKE THAT IMMEDIATELY. FIRST AND FINAL WARNING. Umm, I don't know what I'll do if you don't comply, but I'll think of something nasty.

Hmm, maybe it's some unknown quirk in the server setup. Could you send over your configuration files?

Had a quick look through the files.
The only instance of TALK_TO_MASTER I can find is in settings_dedicated.cfg and it's set to 0.
In fact, it looks like the default config folder.
You sure you zipped the correct directory there?

sorry about that those are not my servers config files. I have two coppies or the setting 1 the original which i posted there the other is mine which i cannot acess untail later today. I'll post them As soom as i can about 20:00 GMT.
