strategy and etiquette

Post by locutus »

I go after people who have never played before and come in spouting their mouth off. I usually give friends a break and don't go after them directly unless there is no other way to survive to get the guy I really want. Sometimes I just ignore everyone on the grid and go for person and to hell with the consequences...I don't like trash talkers who haven't earned the right to do so

I also look for people with low pings when they come in, you know you have to keep your eye on them if they ever played even a little bit..there are a lot of good players out there

note - sometimes when me, n54 or commie play, I will go all the way around the grid and ppl to get to them and let everyone else kill each other off, then they kill me :), if I can make it that far

aim high-thats my mantra, all you have to lose is your life

lol - I also go after people who chat/talk smack a lot during the game even after they are dead, they are interferring with the remaining players

I usually try to time my chat lines for approriate moments, i.e.: not during a lag bomb (message may get lost and have to re-type) or during an intense face off, things liek that

and keep them short if possible...unless you have a detailed message you need to get across to specific player

i like to be friendly, supportive and get off a few bon mots with everyone i play with, but locu, i hear you about smaque-talkers... i enjoy putting them in their place. usually this works out since the top players have no need to talk the talk.

OTOH, the other night i started giving it back to someone who was dishing it out, and after a bit he admitted he was drunk and out of line and thereafter we managed to carry on as two decent human beings, amazing!

Nice nic, bet that doens't happen often. I never talk about how good i am, but bad... that's another subject. I laugh at ppl who come in and talk trash to the top players, I can see they will be toast already, hehe.

and us talking normally in a game doesn't affect it that much, so we can talk all want Marrow - lol

loc, are we old, or what? i'm 37, and i believe from iceman's page you're 41 or something.

well, i had a bad day yesterday- the servers i played on all seemed to be full of rowdy teenagers all yelling stuff like "take THIS biotch!" and "haha- you suck!" although mainly that was the highbrow stuff. i know their ages because they were actually nice enough to tell me when i asked- 13yrs to college age.

i just like it when i get in a room with another (apparantly) old phart or pharts who can both enjoy playing, keep some mildly witty banter going and keep it clean, for the most part. those are the good days, because i can be playing like laggy shit and i still have a fun, friendly time. with the kids, you're either enjoying winning or enjoying talking smaque and that's about it. frankly i don't even enjoy winning in those circumstances.

do you ever find yourself constantly hammering on the PG-DOWN key to clear the pages of lame character gfx, name-calling and endless "LOL!", "almost got you"s in a row? like i said, i am an old phart for this game. :D

Did I ever mention I'm 15? There are ocasionally a few younger people who can handle notbitching all the time... Look at me, I am a responsible admin for this highly respected forum, and we're not having very many problems here, right? And, have the time I am just making excuses for my self, eg. "NICE ONE" then "sry, damn capslock!" And well, nice manners are nice :).

cudos to you tank, and everybody else who manage to treat others in a normal fashion (i get the impression some ppl just regard others as a collection of bytes and not as living entities when on the web, but maybe they act that way in real life too).

anyway, thanx for a great forum

btw i'm myself 29 and due to meanings and beliefs i don't really care if for example [spammer names not disclosed] has a thing about gay [ack! why does it translate g-a-y into friendly? those two things are definetly not the same] ppl, jews, blacks or anything else.... except it can be fun to reply something like "I'm a black gay [g-a-y] jew" it kinda puts them off lol

*tries testing if writing friendly gets translated into g-a-y* *needs bigger smile than mrgreen* rofl

True loc, I guess we know how to keep our chat within the boarders of good taste. And nic, I know exactly what you mean. There are some youths that get a little out of control (Tank Program excluded by request).

Edit add:[I'm 27 btw.]
