There's another thread where I drew a picture of exactly what you're talking about, gnorty.
*grumbles about always having to repeat himself*
Maybe I'll dig up a link for you if I find a few minutes. But it's the *other* double-grinding thread if you want to dig it up yourself.
Edit: It's this thread.

that's pretty much the idea, but I think a straight 180 would be easier than trying to loop back as you describe.
Apologies for reinventing the wheel, but there is an awful lot of info to take in from your posts. Perhaps it would be helpful to put a quick quiz at the end, to make sure that everyone has read it fully, understands it and committed it to memory

Heh.
The only problem with the quick turn down the middle is that it appears to me, anyway, that most people wouldn't be able to do it. They're all still freaking out when they see those of us who can.
Anyway, sure, I'd be happy to try this out sometime. It has several benefits besides the double-grinders that I think would be useful. It deals with the odd-man-out problem that the center faces. It lets you place your right side a little farther forward, thanks to the double-grinder. And if your left-hand guy doesn't double-grind, you place your left side a bit shallower to trap the other team between your right, your left, and the rim wall on the left (assuming you don't get around their flank that way).
Damn, been reading too much military sci-fi. I've got all these battlefield tactics whirling through my head.
Quiz:
What's the problem with the center being goalie?
What's my own position on trying this tactic?
What have I been reading lately?

calling a strategy after your name
is one thing
but a move...
and besides
imho
naming should be nominated....
sorry
psyko
but i won't ever be calling it the psyko grind...
i look forward to the time when you invent a completely new strategy...
perhaps while you are meant to be studying at yale...
