yesterday or maybe the day before there was a server in the list that once my client had pinged it would crash my pc, im not sure exactly which one it was but it was around the middle of the list
it became really annoying and happened every time I used the master server list, after the crash I had no choice but to power down and restore my partition
this went on for hours so in the end I had no choice but to use custom connect on the few servers I was wanting to play which btw worked 100%
I really need to disable server pinging in the master list so have you got any tips on how to do this
thanks

Darn, I was just about to apply the Iceman principle.
Joe, with which version did it happen? 0.2.6.0 and 0.2.7.0 are vulnerable to attacks, so a malicious server can easily crash them once it gets pinged.
The only oddity I find in the server logs is that "DSA Arena" sometimes reports back from a different IP than it is registered with. Very odd, but it is doing this for three weeks now, and even 0.2.6 already ignores packets from unknown IPs.

Could you two edit master.srv and replace armagetronad.kicks-ass.net with l05.thp.uni-koeln.de? And clean up frommaster.srv before starting the game? A backup testing master is running there that gets less traffic. It's continuously kept up to date, so you should not miss anything.
This will make it easier to reconstruct what exactly should have been on your list if the crash happens again. I guess that with a bluescreen, chances to get the list or even a recording from your PC would be slim.
