Hi guys
I play your wonderful nicely improved armagetron on linux (ubuntu 5.10+gnome). Unfortunatley i have little problems with the sound.
I can either hear the game sound - or have system sounds.
Imho that strongly indicates that armagetron doesn't support alsa, esd or arts, but sticks with oss?
So as AA is pretty new i would b quite surprised if it doesn't support one of the newer (alsa, jack, or even esd) soundserver systems. I just wasn't able to find it anywhere in the ingame menu.
Did i miss something or is there a special command i have to start AA with? Or do u offer a plugin for the sound issue?
Thanks in advance,
regards

This feature is sticked to the version of libsdl you have installed.
By default I believe Ubuntu installs libsdl with oss support.
Take a look at these packages to get support for alsa, esd, ... installing the corresponding package:
libsdl1.2debian-alsa
libsdl1.2debian-arts
libsdl1.2debian-esd
libsdl1.2debian-nas
libsdl1.2debian-oss
You should also take a look at the sound system used by GNOME and selected in Administration->Multimedia menu or something (sorry I'm at job right now).
