That's quite the opposite. No signal came from my speakers, but I suppose there was still a bit of noise, so signal/noise is 0. Once I typed my terminal 'ringed' (but the modern version) like crazy, increasing the SNR.

It's apparently a law of mathematics or something that you must have noise. Because if you have no noise, but plenty of signal, then you have division by zero. Or maybe it's that a thread with lots of signal and no noise would just be undefined?

It's physics Condensed form: Noise is entropy. Entropy is temperature. Zero noise == zero entropy == absolute zero temperature. It's one of the laws of thermodynamics that you can't get there.
