Holy ****! Tank Program's, like, old!

He called it to my attention, Tank Program is 26. He was 16 when he started these forums, meaning these forums are about 10 years old.

I know that when I met him he was 16/17. He was in swedish high school, which, unfortunately didn't involve him inserting his penis between Swedish breasts (a joke only people my age will get). He needed to do a community sorta thing, prove he was making the world a better place. He felt that his work on these forums and in this community should stand. He just needed someone willing to sign for it. I signed for it. For two years. And I did so not just because I wanted him to finish high school, and not just because I wanted to give him a slacker way out, but because......

....

He actually DID contribute to making the world a better place.

We make the joke now about how he only shows up on March 30th. It's a fun joke. We all know it's not true, but it's a fun joke. At the time I signed papers and scanned them and sent them back so he could get actual real high school credit for these forums, he was quite active. At a surprisingly young age, Z-man showed up out of nowhere, and everybody was looking at a 17-year-old kid for leadership.

And Tank Program stepped up and did what he had to do.

He was a little shaky. He even asked me (the ultimate troll before liz showed up, that bitch) for some advice, but he DID IT.

We make the joke about how often he shows up. How about a little respect for what he's done, and the fact that he continues to do it, even if he doesn't take a few seconds to make a post.

It's been a busy few years, but wow, has time flown by. The forums are now indeed 10 years old, and some odd days. We've also recently hit 10,000 topics and soon 0x27100 posts. Not only did I finish up my high school in Sweden to with these forums, but I've complete and Masters degree, and a PhD as well. I'll try and be a bit more active now that I've landed in stable employment, but well, we'll see how it goes...

He did it because he's known me for a long time. He knew I wouldn't exactly complain, and that I would cool down, and that I'd understand his reasons for doing so.

In doing so, he continued to show why he has the position he has here, which is exactly what this thread is about.

The fact that I haven't made any new posts has more to do with me needing to sleep, take my kids back their mom's, and other shit that happens IRL.

As it stands right now, it looks like the evil spambot is in Liz's control. I'd be very disappointed to find that out, but that's how it looks right now.

Congrats on your PhD - I remember mine, loved doing it, hated writing it up.

10 years is a long time - I wasn't married and had no kids back then. Now I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl.

These treasures don't leave much room for playing games or anything else for that matter.
