New Gentoo Ebuilds

Post by fman23 »

The Gentoo ebuilds for Armagetron are outdated, are not done well and do not include one for a 0.4 trunk build. I decided to write new ones for my overlay: one for 0.2.8.3.2.1 and one for 0.4. They should work with a recently up to date portage tree and include an option to build a dedicated server rather than a client. The 0.4 ebuild downloads the latest bzr every time it is installed. A small patch had to be applied to the 0.2.8 source since it checks for a deprecated function in the latest libpng (1.5) with the configure script. The ebuilds are available in my overlay at https://github.com/fkmclane/overlay/tre ... magetronad.

You are a good man, I applaud you. Ive been maintaining my own ebuilds for years. I havnt tested them yet, but does the repo include ebuilds for the 2.x line?

The official repo used to have 0.2.x but not anymore (I'm not sure why it was removed). I posted a bug report asking them to upload my ebuilds at https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481516
