Jeri and Word commenting Ladle 69 in German
Hey,
Jericho and I plan to host a VoIP server (Mumble? Teamspeak?) for Ladle 69 and comment it in German, everyone is invited. More details to be announced soon.

How many german players are there that couldn't follow the english last night? It was nice to have everyone in the one place last night so it would be a shame to split off groups.

Re: Jeri and Word commenting Ladle 69 in German
Oh, this isn't about comprehension problems or splitting the audience of the other commentary. We loved the English streaming. We just thought perhaps we could attract more players from other servers to fortress that way, and like to try it. There are only a handful of German speaking people who play fort and who'd listen to this, anyway, so this could create more diversity. In the best case, some of our listeners would move to the 'main' english commentary, "the real thing" if you will, later on.

Yeah actually that sounds cool, do more germans play other game modes?

Yes, they do.

Ugh, turns out I'd need DynDns for this. Hm, I'll look more into it another time, this requires a lot of patience.

Yeah, we actually had some fun there, with Nate, Soska, Sindarus for some hours and Roter for a few minutes.
House and Vov played so it was more of a conversation than commentary. Well, if more people would be online at that time and if we'd advertise it more, it could be more successful. It seems like we got the right chemistry though.
For next time I'll try to set up my own server though, any help is welcome. I already got a domain now, but it seems like I have a problem with the port forwarding of my router. Well, if it doesn't work out we'd just hijack the Phoenix server again
The best of all was that there was no delay for us, because every listener was in the server too.
Maybe Peat can help me with this. I currently don't have time though.

I couldn't connect to the first one and then was busy in my team's voicechat, sry
I think some guys host an Armagetron Teamspeak anyways (don't know who), maybe we can just get a public channel there or something. Or Peat's ^^

Is there a way to drive the commentary into a live audio stream? If so, we can link to the German version on the Twitch account. German viewers can mute the video and stream the German audio cast in another browser tab.
Re: Jeri and Word commenting Ladle 69 in German
I'm going to get a new laptop this year so I could help with that soon and stream it - then we could just link one another's channel or something like that.

Lol, no one wants to spend an entire match, listening to raging. Anyway German sound awesome, I'd listen even if I'd have no idea what's going on
