Decision Maker

Post by teen »

I suggest adding a "/roll" code where both team leaders would "roll" and a number from 1-100 pops up. THe higher number justifies the team leaders decision.

SO if two teams are complaining over a server issue, one wants a US and one wants a EU, the /roll option would be used to settle the argument of which server is chosen.

If both teams complain, the bolded server is picked because it is the primary server.

The answer is so obvious, you guys are total n00bs not to know it. The team leaders just 1v1 in the middle of the grid. The winner gets his pick of server, color, whatever. Problem solved the way people have settled disputes for centuries.

I like where you're going with this sine. When a dispute arises, we can have the players voted into a map change, where it is just them in a sumo zone that doesn't shrink. Every 5 seconds they have to do /roulette (Russian roulette), if they do not do so within the allotted time, they die, and clearly if they get shot by themselves, they die as well. This is the most decisive way to solve disputes.

I've also seen people down here go out in their backyards, after drinking waaaay too much beer, with a bow and arrow. At first, I was like "wha?" They then shot 5 arrows into the sky and started running around. Redneck russian roulette ftw.

I do kind of like the roll option though haha. I'm not sure what it's full use would be, but as long as people didn't spam it, it might be helpful.

I've done that, only it was with a lead pipe, and we had to stand in a circle. Whoever runs first loses :D

Without a doubt the stupidest game ever, especially with arrows..

You can't just roll a die or flip a coin in person?

Did being team gold really mean that much to you that you wanted to waste the time to do whatever resolution is proposed and then the time to switch teams?

You know, I've been thinking about how to go about this without additional code. I found a good solution:
  1. In a dispute, one player picks "even" or "odd"
  2. Bother players rename* with a positive, single-digit, non-zero number. (example: "sine.wav 1")
  3. Neither player will see the rename until the new round begins and they receive the server message. The sum of the numbers, even or odd, determines the winner.
Like "Morra."

Hmm, pretty sure this is deterministic. The player who joined the server first would get to keep his chosen nick name.
