Can't play the game.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem playing Armagetron on Windows 7. As soon as I start the game, nothing but a window pops up.
It copies whatever is 'behind' it, which is basically all it does.
Here is a PrtSc:

I tried reinstalling the game, deleting everything and downloading the client again, install and reboot, delete everything then reboot and install and then reboot again, but nothing helped. Anyone?

try to change your color depth to 16 bit (right-click somewhere on your desktop and go to display settings)

Nope, didn't help.

Things like that happen when a program hangs at startup and doesn't even display a single frame. Let's see if we can find out more. Check:
- press ESC a few times while the window has focus. If the program quits, it's running fine, just not displaying anything.
- Press Crt-Alt-Del to bring up the task manager and check whether the Armagetronad process is using up significant CPU time. If yes, it's stuck in a loop, if no, it's waiting for an external signal.

Also, what graphics card and sound card are you using, and which drivers are installed for them?

- It just quits when I press Esc.
- It doesn't use much of my CPU: about 3%.

My graphics card is the Nvidia 7000M, the sound card is in the motherboard, and I have the latest drivers installed.

Try hitting 'f' a couple of times, slowly. That should toggle fullscreen/windowed rendering, maybe one is working better than the other.

And could you find the file 'user.cfg' and paste it here? It should be in the directory C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Armagetron\var. Sometimes, settings in there go bonkers.

Full screen worked! Running the game on around 50 fps now. I'm used to it, it's the 7000M...

yay! you may get some extra FPS if you play with the rendering options. The floor rendering, specifically. The default is a bit costy, switch it to 'single texture' or even 'off'.
