How to make dir_wall?

Post by Hailme »

How can I make transparent dir_walls? and possible someone help me with how to make rim_walls and grid floors, and sky pictures please.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void.
And darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light that it was good and God divided light from the darkness.

By using the alpha channel, you can make the dir_wall look transperent. Here's an example. (© Phythotron)

(slight offtopic: This should be moved to the Graphical section, shouldn't it?)

There is a transparent cycle trail here too. You only need a basic image editor to make textures for Armagetron. Here is the Wiki entry on Moviepacks. I would suggest backing up your original textures, then opening them up in some paint program, playing around, then loading them into the game to see your work better.

There is no other help anyone can give you, unfortunately. It's that easy. If you can't manage it, then I don't know what to tell you.

You don't need to back them up. Leave them alone and just put separate 'textures' and/or 'moviepack' folders in your 'var' directory/folder. Save anything new to those. (But, of course, you might want to back up your newly created textures elsewhere.)

No, we're not going to instruct you on how to use an image editor.
