The first CTF w/ FortFzx tournament will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2009 @ 18:00 GMT. Grab 3 other players and go sign up! Hopefully there will be at least 8 teams. The wiki has all the information you'll need, but if you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

as you might have seen we have set up a server now (i know the server name is still a bit different from the others, but we'll change that). I played there today for the first time and thought WOW :P
I like the map and I think it's a good chance to raise the popularity of ctf among fort players and the other way round but I don't like one thing about the map: the defender can always respawn his team which makes it nearly impossible to end the round by killing all enemies (don't know if you did that on purpose, but I think that strategies would become more important if there are less possibilities to keep a team alive). did you discuss these things anywhere or am I just a bit late?

And he can be easily holed by doing so ;)
Yeah, it can make matches last much longer, but I'd wait till tourney ends before making any verdicts.

It's certainly on purpose. And if you get an attacker between the defender and the zone, you can "base-camp" and end the round. I've seen it done a few times, and it's not too hard. It's happened to me even, and you all know how awesome I am at the whole CTF thing... :lol:

After being attacked for about 20-30 seconds, the defender usually has to shrink and then his tail is no longer in the respawn zone.

yea but I have to rework the brackets and I'll get rid of the 3rd place game too since the tourney will already take a while...might need more servers too :?

First, server admins need to be caught up on a few things!

I updated the settings to v2. Please update your config files with the correct settings:

Let's make this a good first tourney tomorrow!

Since this is a relatively new game type, I would suggest reading over the settings again, just in case you missed some important things like how you can score even if the other team has your flag or that the rim speeds you up.

Anyways, hopefully there will be a good turnout tomorrow. If you suddenly are short players, go ahead and grab someone and add them to your team, but make sure they only play with you and don't team-hop.

So the tournament starts tomorrow (Sunday) @ 18:00 GMT. Because of the number of team signups, 5 teams have byes and won't start until 18:45 GMT.

Everything you need to know is on the wiki, so if you're confused, you should probably check it out. If you're still confused, don't hesitate to post your question!
