I tried using other moviepacks and the result is the same. Out of curiosity, I went and tried it on beta3 and the same thing happened. The debug recording was made in beta3 (sorry), but it should still help right? Let me know if you need more info.Z-Man wrote:Perhaps it's the specific moviepack you're using? Can you post it, together with a debug recording and your settings?

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Maybe, I'll look at it. Is beta3 the first affected version?
Edit: nope, doesn't reproduce the bug for me. Not on Linux, anyway.

I noticed the Mac builds don't have the problem either. I guess it's a Windows thing.Z-Man wrote:...doesn't reproduce the bug for me. Not on Linux, anyway.
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Possibly So far, I have been too lazy to try to reproduce it on Windows.
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Nope, no dice. Don't get it on Windows either. That leaves only one course of action: We need to find the exact code revision that introduces the bug. Your first job is to find the first build among those we already have that exhibits the problem. Also, you should check whether the various display lists settings have something to do with it.
In phase two, I'll feed you new builds made between the last known unaffected and last known affected version, and you tell me whether they're affected or not. Binary search FTW.

Ok, looks like the bug first appears in alpha20080217. I tried all three display list options and there was no difference.
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Oh, this is going to be difficult. The changes from the previous alpha contain practically all the display list optimization changes, and it could be that some intermediate revisions don't work at all with moviepacks. We'll see.

First test version r7900: armagetronad-0.2.8_r7900.gcc.win32.exe
Affected or not? (You can limit the tests to disabled display lists, I think.)

Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Affected. The floor texture was the only thing that loaded, and it became the rim and sky too (not dir_wall, which was empty). Same result for all three display list options (might as well check, right?).Z-Man wrote:Affected or not?
I couldn't turn the cycle either. I guess I should expect some craziness, yes?
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Yes, but not in those amounts. The build seemed to work fine for me. Anyway, your report indicates something wrong in the interaction of arma with your system, which is what we're after, so let's check earlier revisions.sinewav wrote:I couldn't turn the cycle either. New build r7865: armagetronad-0.2.8_r7865.gcc.win32.exe. Please test.
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
No dir_wall.png loaded (with display lists on or off). This build was a lot more normal than the previous.

...Worked perfect, with display lists on and off.
Re: 0.2.8.3_rc1 available! Post bug reports here.
Bugged. dir_wall.png appears intermittently with display lists on and off.
Oh, I'm going out of town tomorrow, so there might be a short break in our routine here and there.
