I have talked about creating "The Spoon"

My idea is Simple.

The tourney will be held on the Second Sunday of the Month, Fisrt one to be held April 12, 2009. It will alternate between Fourtress for four mode and Four team Fourtress mode.

We could use the maps and Settings that were used in prior tourneys.

I, am such a total n00b at this, I need your input and help! I will gladly organize things and post on the Wiki, etc. But when it comes to hammering out settings, things like that...I need your input. You all know way better than I probably ever will.

So, let's talk about it!

I do have available to me the settings and maps used in the FFF tourney and the Four Team Fourtress Tourney. Do you think that we should just start with those? Or should they be tweaked? Or should we standardize on something closer to if not actually Ladle settings? These are the different choices that I see in terms of settings.

I think that Servers won't be a problem. Smoothice and I have already committed to providing American servers, and there are others. CT has expressed an interest in providing Euro servers. So, I think servers can be had.

Many Clan leaders and Team leaders have expressed interest to me in doing such a tourney, from both sides of the pond.

So, I think we just need to create a basic organization to run the show! I already have a couple of volunteers on my side of the pond to be tourney admins. I am totally committed to this thing working!

But I need your input. I need your collective brain. I just ain't smart enough, nor do I have enough experience to just pull this together without your help.

Haven't we already had The Spoon? Didn't that come before the Ladle? Back in 2006 if the wiki is correct.

Not content with stealing other peoples ongoing tourneys are we? Now you also want to steal turneys that dwell in our Happy Place? Then changing it all around to something totally different but at heart, similar.

Can't you come up with your own tournament?

The idea with the spoon (and all tronic events for that matter) is that they run concurrently. Spoon is a smaller tournament and more frequent, then ladle is bigger and slightly less frequent, then bowl, then cup.

The original plan was
Spoon-weekly (3 per month)
Ladle-Monthly (8 per year)
Bowl-Seasonally (3 per year)
Cup-Yearly (1 per year)

but we've diverted from that, which is fine.

Why use the same name for two tourneys with different settings? It will only lead to confusion. Considering how different this would be from the original Spoon I think you should come up with a completely different name.

How about the Table Spoon for the Fourtress for Four Tournament.

How about the Soup Spoon for the Four Team Fortress Tournament.

Would that be more sensible..your point is well made!

Lose the spoon dude. There are dozens of other appropriate names you can use that don't involve either "spoon" or "FFF". Here are a couple of freebies for you:

Quad-Fort Destruction
Fortress Mayhem
4x4 Havoc
Four-Team Anarchy

Can you see my simple formula? <number|fort|team>+<exciting noun>.
