Sumo Rings

Post by þsy »

Hey, I've been getting increasingly annoyed with the number of times ive died because one of the rectangle sumo blocks from the ring gets in the way and I cant see where I'm going haha

I was wondering if there was some way to edit the size or colour of the ring blocks?

Ideally, I would have them slightly smaller and transparent, outlined by the colour, like this

Is it possible? Or will I have to just brave those nasty blocks?

So far there is only one way to edit the look of the zones, afaik. Hoop made a patch for that, but you need to compile the game from the source yourself in order to use it: http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopi ... sc&start=0

Check this out:

You have to apply the patch and build or if you use Mac OS X you have a build there.
There's also ZONE_ALPHA_TOGGLE, not sure it's in all versions.

EDIT: Hey! Luzi's post wasn't there!

Try ZONE_ALPHA_TOGGLE and ZONE_ALPHA. Of course, only available in alpha builds right now.

Edit: oops, ninja'd.

Yeah, same thing used to happen to me. The first thing I do whenever I enter a sumo match it type "ALPHA_BLEND 0" into my console (I use the stable client). This turns off the alpha channel and makes the rectangles hollow with outlines. It's easier than applying the patch, but no where near as fun. :)

on a related note, is there a way of 'instant chatting' console commands?

let me explain: could i somehow associate 'r' with console command 'cycle_rubber 5' for example?

after this, there'll be no stopping me on tron
