No tourney... :< ... but we WANT TO FIGHT!

Hey arma world.
You probalby all noticed that we had no tourney going on...
some players are frustrated by that, that's why we should still do something.
1200 mentionned on tr forums a "US. VS. EU" war.
who's interested?
if we only get few players, we can still make 2 or 4 teams and have friendly fights

let me know what you think

Wouldnt it be better to make sure americans and europeans are distributed evenly among teams? Else it's just going to be a complain-about-lag-fest.

about that I thought we could alternate matches between US and EU servers, but it won't be fair indeed (still lag can be a powerful weapon when controlled).
the other option is the one you mention lack

Why not form a tournament where the point is to play against everybody, crown a winner, and do it on the slowest, laggiest server you can find? So, the tournament itself wouldn't be attached to any particular game style, just whatever's laggiest.

i think keeping it euro vs us would keep it more competitive....
Why not play a certain number of matches on both a euro server and a us server and which ever team has the highest total points from all the matches wins???

PS: by the way we never said it was an original idea...EVA never materialized so why not start up something new or resurrect EVA since the site is still there....

as for Luci's idea....i think there will still be ping differences no matter where you play since there really isn't a middle ground anywhere.
And i don't think people enjoy playing in a laggy server unless thats the purpose of the tourny to see who can play best in a laggy condition...which could be a separate tourny all together.

just don't make teams too big due to lag factor.

It died because, we couldnt get enough american players to sign up.

I've got no problems with resurecting the EVA if we can get enough players.

And the schedule for the matches of the EVA was like this

Europe 1 Vs America 1 on Europe Server
Europe 2 Vs America 2 on US Server
America 1 Vs Europe 1 on US server
America 2 Vs Europe 2 on Europe Server

In total containing 2 europe, and 2 American teams

If we couldn't get enough players the last time, why not just have one euro team and one us team? maybe we can play more matches too. one match at each server seems too short.
In the event if there are too many sign-ups, we could consider having two teams per side.

It would be nice to have some kind of server where people can sign up and someone to organize the matches afterwards. So Freako it'd be nice if you could start up your site again.
