Help me set up my server
Wow... This is the first post in a looooooooooooooooooooooong time.
Anyway, i have done port forwarding, talk_to_master 1, everything but it is still not on the master server list.
Can anybody help me? (or is there anyone here?)

If you've been there and done that, then isn't there some additional information you need to be giving us right now? If not, go read the FAQ again

my server should be running on runemaste644
i didnt modify SERVER_PORT
the server name doesnt appear in the browser: i only see 127.0.0.1:4534 Unreachable

External IP address? My grepping on master 2 didn't turn anything up for Chaos or Revolution in the current list, I'd like to grep with the IP address.
The console output you've got here shows the server telling all 4 masters (successfully) about itself, so now we need to check the masters and see what they know.

This is an indication that the port forwarding wasn't done right. Can you double-check that? It would be helpful if you could describe the steps you went through to do the port forwarding.
Edit: Oh yeah, to answer your other question, I operate Master 2, and it keeps logs and stuff, so I just grep those like you'd grep any other text file. Basic diagnostics: when you need to see if a connection works from one end to the other, you check both ends.
So for questions like this one or more master server operators will tend to check their master servers for evidence that the connection works. Lack of such evidence (which we have here right now) is an indication of a broken connection. The master server end is a healthy connection for all 4 master servers, so if the connection is broken, that's usually an indication that it's broken on your end.
So, that's what we're doing right now, trying to figure out if it's actually broken or not.
The way the server runs, if you can connect on the LAN, then the only barrier to someone else connecting from outside is port forwarding. Custom connect should always work if the port forwarding is done right. There are other rare factors that might interfere that are beyond our control, but they are *rare*. It's more common to blame a rare factor than it is for a rare factor to actually prevent you from running a server.
So anyway, let's get someone to be able to custom connect to it. when we know that works, then we check the master servers again.

so, Port 1 is the physical port your computer is plugged into on the router? I'm used to seeing internal IP addresses of the form 192.168.1.xxx.
How are you setup? For example, I have a dsl router and then a wireless nat router plugged into that. In my setup, I could configure my dsl router to act as a router (right now it just passes through), in which case I could plugin a switch and it'll act like a regular nat router. If I were setup like that and still had my wireless nat router plugged in, I'd have to port forward twice, once from the dsl router to the nat router, and again from the nat router to the machine.
