the game (?? vs aw) was really intense..... i liked it...... it was a bit short though, maybe we could make it best out of 5, or should we save it or the knock-out ?
IMO the most important thing we need to sort out are the time-outs... i think that it should be arranged before the first match starts and that agreement should be binding.... so either we say "we play three matches straight - no matter what" or "we have a break after every match" cause the game keeps on running, there's no time to decide ad-hoc.

And one last thing..... i have a recording of the game..... should i put it up somewhere ? Lucifer, is it ok if i put it on the wiki (it's 4.2mb bzipped) ? Is it even possible to put it there ? i saw only [[image:]] and [[media:]] there, how will it interact with armagetron's recordings ?

If the wiki will let you put it there, I'm fine with it. But if it won't, I don't have time to try to figure out how to make it let you.

Umm, you might need to zip it instead. I made the wiki support zip so I could put moviepacks on it. You still use the [image:] construct to place it on the page. Check the moviepack page for some examples.

If you'd like, a page needs to be created for the whole SPOON that shows the games that have been played and the results, and another page should be created where rankings are tracked during the seed round. Then we either make a third page to track the knockout round, or we track it on the rankings page. The recordings should be linked on the page that lists the games and their results for the appropriate round the game goes with, in this case the seed round.

I meant to make all these pages before we started but didn't get a chance to.

Umm, to link images that are not images (zip- files, audio files), just use [:Image:somename|], that makes a link instead of a clickable error message

If you're patient enough that is...... cause it includes a 20 min warmup before the game. I forgot I have to restart the game..... ( I don't suppose there is a way to cut out the irrelevant parts

) well, i hope i'll do better next time.
anyway, i would like to encourage someone to record the other matches.... it certainly would be interesting for the others to see what was happening there..... and i don't my recording to be the only one

I out on the wiki that XzL won't be able to play. For several reasons.

Me and Solidus are up for grabs though if you need an extra player or 2.

looks like the seeding is going relatively well
though numbers seem to be falling
as we try to arrange more and more games...
availability is a major problem

i would still like to provide the alternative to another two weeks of organising games...

we need four servers to run simultaneously
and i think there are currently four:

z-man's spoon
fortress elite
crazy tronners spoon
though i have seem lobster spoon server at some point...

we can self-organise on the day
or follow the seeding schedule since it should have been finished by then

it would be nice if we had the full 8 players per team
so that we don't get all the hassle of non-comp players entering all the time...

all we need to do is turn up...
should be pretty bloody exciting!

I've been trying for close to a week now and have been met with surprisingly(since they are the "Fortress Elite") little co-operation. BTW has there been a set date when seed rounds are supposed to be over?

I think there's informal agreement seed rounds should be over sometime this weekend, around the 15th. Informal in that we all know it needs to end soon so we can start working the brackets, but there's no automatic "if you haven't played by this day, the rest of the games are forfeited" set up.

@fe: there was some question whether or not our game was actually scheduled, but sky wound up saying we could take it as a win if we wanted (nobody from fe showed up, we had 5 players ready). Have they played any games at all? If they haven't, then it seems like we should just move on, and just consider them along the lines of xzl.

Following up, here are the games left to play:

Knights of Ni vs Team somethingsomething (scheduled for Sunday)
MBC vs CT
Lobsters vs CT, Anarchic Wanderers, and Team somethingsomethiing (this is 3 games)

fe hasn't played any games, the only one marked is the one with KNights of Ni I mentioned in my previous post. How long should we wait for them to schedule their games? iirc, they didn't really enter the tournament until we were several days iinto it already (I added them to the team list for the tournament as soon as they hit 5 players just so there wouldn't be any technical bitching if nobody wanted to play them, it's easier for them to drop or be dropped at the last minute than it is to add them). And the impression I've been getting is that they don't really care much, so maybe we should just move on?

Other than that, we're waiting for Lobster games. The ?? vs Ni game will probably go off, or get forfeited or whatever. Sure, it's on Easter, but it's been scheduled for 2 weeks and nobody's complained or tried to reschedule. Doesn't get any more etched in stone than that (unless you actually etch it in stone).

Anybody want to start a bracket page?

MBC vs. CT will be on Saturday, 8PM GMT. At least I hope it will.

Other than that I have no idea how the bracket rounds will get played, sure I'd create that page
