The way this WILL WORK is to ONLY let the people who donate log files to this data base have access to it. This will ensure it's value and will encourage other admins to share. If anybody can have access to it, it will most likely be abused. The idea is to route out the 24/7 troll/smurfs that spend all of their time harassing.
For example:
Player 1 --> .] Hoax: FAGUT
Player 1 --> .] Hoax: lol funniest response ever.
Player 1 --> .] Hoax: still a fagut though =(
Player 1 --> .] Hoax: FAGUT!
.] Hoax: stop msging me
I was just on evalusia's sumo server and got even worse treatment from a player 1 who had a 27 ping there so not the same person. This is a small community type game. Implementing a way to route out these kinds of troublemakers would definitely improve the quality of the gaming experience.

She's right you know. That's why it's there - to improve your gaming experience. It's the silence menu that's kept me in this game for so long; that and "ENABLE_CHAT 0" for those times where everyone is exceedingly annoying.

Yeah, that's the one thing I wish I could add to the game. I really don't like offensive nicks. I wish there was another menu option to strip the nick back to Player 1 locally. Like a local rename function.
I think I'll cross-post this idea on another thread.

The silence menu is a great tool. But just because you have the ability to silence annoying people doesn't mean that constant flamers shouldn't be kicked or banned.

Totally. That's why my personal policy is to vote yes on every kick poll, unless the poll itself is obvious spam. It's pretty hard to get kicked from most servers. I wish it was easier.
Bit late in commenting here, I don't really care what you do with your server or what other people do with theirs, but let me know before I put my ip out in public for all to see. Not that I think any of you have the capability to do something malicious - but say a list like that fell into the wrong hands...gf tournament finals...
Hmmm reminds me of something that happened previously involving a hashed list of passwords that fell into the wrong hands... have we not learned anything???
