Sure, count me in as server admin/operator. I need an account at that place for anything else apart from entering a server? Like, reporting results?

no, team captains are responsible for that.

We might be putting together a ladder, so it'd be nice if you could hold on the the logs.

thanks :)

I put up the three servers that i am donating to fpl, but i was unsure as to the format to list them on the wiki. If you could put an example listing in, i will list the three of them.

3 matches per month may be a bit too much for some players. Can we change the limit of players/team to 15?

If you want me to look after the ladder, the server will have to use a fairly recent sty+ct build. Otherwise the logs will be no good to me.

Yeah I agree. At the same time though how long does this plan to run?
Like thelastSunrise wrote, if it's one match a month it will take ages. If it's going to take quite a while (leagues do I guess) the team lists might need more flexibility..
Also just thought, will there be admins? Just wondered because I doubt the team captains will be able to make every match, so backup permissions or something might be needed.
Stats would be cool, easier to get them too if the servs will be used for league games only.

The AFL ran every weekend and that seemed to work out. However, 2 matches a month seems ideal.

Matches are 20 minutes long, throw in 10 minutes set up and thats a half hour. A team could knock of 2/3 monthly matches in 1 hour on sunday. It's really quite reasonable.

Totally reasonable.

I just watched the end of CT vs DS and saw some problems.

First, the server didn't have LIMIT_TIME 20. So, someone was just keeping time. This is unacceptable. Arma needs to determine the winner. Can you imagine the potential timing disputes? I think we should spend a little time trying to make a FLP.cfg to distribute to server admins.

Second, it looks like the team captains didn't do a good job of explaining the rules to the players. A lot of people were very confused about the time limit and match limit aspect of the FPL. Some people were like, "this is dumb, Ladle is better" and "this win means nothing if we have to play for a whole year." (But others liked the high scores and thought the match could be twice as long).

FPL is not an improved Ladle. It's an alternative to the Ladle.

it's not just the job of the capains, is it? If the people sign up for the tournament, they have to know the rules, righ?! In th other way it makes no sense, because they dont know how to play. So it is their own fault, when they dont know the rules ?!?!

yea the thing with the server was really shit, the server have to have a own time limit, which ends the game. The match was weird.

we found that LIMIT_TIME is set to 1200 where it should be 20 because this setting it is minutes not seconds

I hope some of you use my TheServerPharm servers. I have done some things to really keep the lag down. Also, these servers do reset every nite about 3am edt. So, they should stay nice and stable over time.
