Ok, but why did I add this signature? I was like 15 and thought I was smart? What a brat.

just to let you know, i didn't forget about it and I am currently trying to get more different camera views and more interesting scenes...if you have good material you want me to add feel free to upload it, comments and advice also welcome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stNMaS4o ... rofilepage

(i will change lots of things, starting with the title that comes to slowly, and while i made it i changed the software i used for the screen capturing so that means also a higher quality and better fps now...and i used the hall of fame clips just because i wanted to make it a few seconds longer xD. in the final version the track will last as long as the music, i will also add more computer animated clips than i have now. there obviously need to be more titles that explain the game modes. I also tried to find a variety of moviepacks but most of them resemble and a lot of them aren't available anymore, if you look at the wiki article. it will take some more time because I'm trying to make a few moviepacks where everything looks completely different so the video doesn't cause boredom. I know the scene with the pink tunnel doesn't make much sense at the moment, as sinewav predicted :) but I'll change it a bit so that the cycle doesn't vanish in this green mass of slime. I need more video material and I hope I can collect it during the next few days). if you've a good idea you want to see in the video contact me or go to a server when you find me there, show your tricks, make debug recordings (for example i would appreciate a good sumo recording, since I suck at sumo I don't have a lot of good recordings there x). If you think that most of the players that appear in the video are pru-members: that's because I'm making two videos at the moment, but of course I am going replace those clips if I have better material. I still have to find out how to move the camera in a more cinematic way...as you can see it only changes between smart mode, custom and some other crap.)
It'll also need some time to fullfill these points joda had in one of his first posts:
joda wrote: What is the audience, we want to attract?

From my expierence, we have:

* alot of teenagers/kids
* casual long term players
* people who are addicted / idle otherwise?

.

So people liking games might be a good base to start from.

Facts that I'm pretty sure of (new players):

* many new players don't know Tron (movie)
* those who know the movie (look for this game because of it's resemblance)
* interest in fast, networked arcade games (can you name another?)
* armagetron offers human opponents aka. learning AI :D

List of arguments for Armagetron:

* easy to play a few rounds and leave
* simple rules and short games (depends on game mode)
* rubber (not in Tron 2.0 or GLTron)
* game modes (different set of modes than competition)
* casual meeting people from other countries (not a entirely kid safe environment though)
* open source?

List of weak points (for new players):

* steep learning curve? requires quick typing (think of first 180° with grind)
* only multiplayer (no single player training - unprepared players)
* loved maps can't be played offline
* websites and game setup can be more newbie friendly

hm, perhaps a funny advertisting video might work (for example):
Familfy Guy: Season 3 Episode 4 One if by clam two if by sea at about 10:30 into the episode.
atm it's just a number of clips running with music, not more, not less.

I am a really good editor and havve been editing all kinds of films for the past 7 years... If we can get a vote about a good storyboard and I can team up with someone to get a HIGH QUALITY screen capture of a lot of scenes then I can make it look hype.... We can advertise it on a lot of racing/motorcycle forums

The animations are pretty sweet except I don't get how they relate to everything else? Also the quality of the screen capture isn't good enough IMO. If we are gonna use this as a game commercial it's gotta look sharp. Using a contrasting moviepack will help tremendously

Just found this on youtube. Not exactly a promotional video as it was discussed above (and missing the subject by an inch), more of a business presentation. Combine something like this with a dashing intro.
TRON LIGHTCYCLES: SPORT OF THE FUTURE! (ENCOM PRESENTATION)
